Unit Manager

The Role
We are seeking
a dedicated results-driven Unit Manager to oversee all operations within a
specific catering unit. Reporting directly to Head of UK Operations, you will
be responsible for the day-to-day running, performance and the strategic
direction of the unit. Who will need to
be hands on, on the shop floor to ensure operational excellence, whilst manging the achievement
of objectives and rationalisation of costs.
Key
Responsibilities
Operational
Leadership: Manage the end-to-end processes from receipt of good to
inflight catering handovers. Ensure, compliance of company policies and
contractual SLAs are achieved.Performance
Management: Monitor all teams and their performance, setting and achieving
key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality and service delivery.Quality
& Safety Assurance: Ensure all operations strictly adhere to all audit
requirements safety regulations, environmental standards and quality management
systems.Financial
Control: Manage the unit’s budget, control costs, minimise waste, whilst partnering
with Finance to drive lean operations and profitable growth.Team Management: Lead and inspire a
diverse workforce developing a high-performing team. This includes supervising
staff, coordinating work processes and ensuring effective communication across
the unit. Foster a positive culture focused on engagement, accountability and
performance. Coach
and mentor Departmental Managers to execute decisions and deliver results. Continuous
Improvement: Champion continuous improvement to elevate performance and
efficiency, whilst driving strategic initiatives. Stakeholder
Coordination: Strengthen stakeholder partnerships to streamline workflows
across centralised teams. Set the
standards for exceptional client management.
Bachelors in Operations Management,
Business Management, or related field.7-10 years’ experience in inflight
catering or airport hub environment, manufacturing, logistics, or food industry
indirectly managing 250+ level employees.Strong leadership experience with
experience in start-up or turnaround environments.Strong communication skills with ability
to communicate with non-exempt to upper management levels.Good knowledge of investigation
procedures and root cause analysis.Understanding of lean manufacturing
principles and operational processes.Strong knowledge of HACCP & food
safety standards.Strong ability with Excel, Word, and
PowerPoint.Strong analytical skills for
interpretation of data to effectively manage risk.
